GLC2OH - A Discerning Believer

This is an assignment I completed for my GLC2OH (Careers Studies) class.

1. In what ways did I act as a Discerning Believer today?

Even though I worked remotely today, I still tried to approach everything with integrity and focus. Working from home gives you a lot of freedom, which also means you have to rely on your own discipline. I made a point to stay organized, use my time responsibly, and follow through on what I said I’d get done. That’s how I tried to live out my values even without being in a physical workplace.

2. Did you make decisions based on your faith, values, or conscience?

Yeah. Remote work comes with a big temptation to slack off or cut corners because no one’s standing over your shoulder. I leaned on my conscience to stay honest in how I used my time. I responded to messages properly, finished tasks I committed to, and kept myself accountable. Choosing responsibility over convenience is a values-based decision.

3. How did your actions reflect Catholic teachings or virtues?

A lot of Catholic virtues are about self-discipline, stewardship, and respecting others. Even working from home, I tried to reflect that. I communicated clearly, met expectations, and stayed reliable so the people on the other end could trust me. Putting effort into my work, even when nobody can see it, lines up with diligence and integrity. It’s a simple way of practicing the idea that your actions should be consistent whether or not you're being watched.
