They argue that the reason for the revolution was primarily economic freedom from Britain&rsquo;s meddling and <em>not</em> for democracy, backing this up with examples of many seemingly undemocratic parts of the government (supreme court, electoral college, etc.). They also argue that it was primarily a war waged by the wealthy for which the poor were used as weapons.</p>
