Seems quite crudely derogatory towards the U.S. and contradicts many of my priors. They argue that the reason for the revolution was primarily economic freedom from Britain’s meddling and not for democracy, backing this up with examples of many seemingly undemocratic parts of the government (supreme court, electoral college, etc.). They also argue that it was primarily a war waged by the wealthy for which the poor were used as weapons.
